Broadband On The Move - Work Anywhere With Your Laptop!
Monday November 26th 2007, 12:31 pm

I’ve always been excited by the freedom to work wherever you want to that the internet affords us.

All I need is a phone line, a computer or my trusty laptop and away I go. It doesn’t matter if I’m in York or New York, as long as I can get online I can make money.

My laptop has made me a lot more mobile, but until now I’ve always had to rely on finding a suitable wi-fi hotspot to get me up and running.

Not any more though because I now have a Dongle!

A Dongle is a small USB modem that gives you fast broadband the instant you plug it into a USB port on your PC or laptop. And it really is that simple. Plug it in and you’re connected - in the park, in the garden, in a car park, wherever you have mobile phone coverage.

All you have to do is put the SIM card that comes with it into the Dongle then plug it into your laptop and you can start accessing the internet! You can even plug it in to any other laptop or computer and get broadband internet access too.

How much does it cost?

From £10 a month for on Three’s Broadband Lite package. That’s enough to send 650 plain text emails and surf the web for 30 hours and download 30 two minute videos and download 60 music tracks.

I opted for the 3Gb Broadband Plus package at £15 a month which gives me enough juice to send 2,000 plain text emails and surf the web for 100 hours and download 100 two minute videos and download 200 music tracks. Plenty for me. I’ve taken the 24 month contract and with that you get the USB Modem - sorry, the Dongle! - for free.
To get your very own Dongle buy online from Three or The Carphone Warehouse who are offering Dongles on both Three and T-Mobile.

PS Your laptop will need to be running Compatible with Windows 2000, XP & Vista operating systems and MacOS for the Dongle to work.
