198 Days To Christmas – Have Your Say!
Did you know that there are only 198 days to Christmas? Still plenty of time to get in any “last minute” shopping I know, but it’s never too early for webmasters to be thinking about the Christmas season and the boost in revenue it can bring. So last night I sat down and looked at all my websites to see what I should be working on as the Christmas season approaches. I identified 20 key sites and then realised that to give each a fair crack of the whip would require 42 hours work a week. Far from impossible, but more hours than I like to work, particularly during July and August when I’ve got plenty of other things to do, but that’s the plan anyway. I also drew up a school-style timetable, breaking each day into hourly slots and treating the weekend as one day, giving me five seven hour days and seven more hours over the weekend. Today Entrepreneur.co.uk was the third subject of the day and so I thought I would see if I could add back in the code that allows readers to comment on posts. This disappeared when I hacked and hacked again and then hacked again at the original code and I’ve never been able to reintroduce it. Today I faired no better. In fact I totally “broke” the website, leaving a string of mysql error messages instead of my usual pearls of wisdom. With no idea how to fix it – or even how to explain to anyone what went wrong – I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to Wordpress 2.7.1 (after doing so I realised 2.8 is released today, but c’est la vie). A few false starts later and that’s what you are seeing now. A new shiny upgraded entrepreneur.co.uk complete with the comment function turned on. This time I’ve decided to leave the code alone (for now anyway) and instead opt for a different theme and some plugins to give me what I want. That’ll have to wait for the weekend though when I next have entrepreneur.co.uk on my timetable. As it is I’m late for my next lesson. |

Hello mate,
Haven’t been on your site for a while but it’s looking good. Hope you are having a good summer.
Good Luck with the book
